Support the School of Social Work this GivingTuesday

Dear Huskies and Friends,

Have you heard about Maine's mental health crisis? It's a growing problem, and the need for compassionate intervention has never been more urgent. Social work students like me want to answer the call to address the needs of Maine citizens and solve real-world health care problems. With your support TODAY, this GivingTuesday, we can.

GIVE TODAY

When I applied to college, I knew I wanted to attend a social work program committed to community engagement, social justice, and professional development. As an alumnus with a bachelor's degree, and a current masters student, the University of Southern Maine’s School of Social Work exceeded my expectations.

I am the recipient of a scholarship from the department, so when I say that your generous donations have a direct impact on students, I’m speaking from experience. My education allows me to work with Maine’s chapter of the National Alliance of Mental Illness and participate on an advisory council with Maine Behavioral Healthcare, where I engage in direct practice and program development.

Your support TODAY on GivingTuesday will help students like me in our pursuit of a long career in the field of social work. GivingTuesday is a dedicated day for alumni, students, faculty, and community members to come together and support the university through donations. No gift is too small, and every contribution makes a profound impact. Make your donation to help us further our mission of developing well-prepared and empathetic social workers who will touch lives and make the world a more just place.

With gratitude,
