The Pirates for Pirates Challenge is happening now, and this is your opportunity to give back with your support of Men's Lacrosse!
Last season, we went 7-10 and 3-3 in conference, ending as semifinalists in the SAA tournament, falling just short against Sewanee, 13-11. We had several honors across the team, with seven selected for All-SAA awards:
Matthew Swandal and Jake Trailer earned SAA All-Tournament honors, and we had five CSC Academic All-District nods for their efforts on and off the field: Jackson Strauser, Christian de Groot, Jeffrey Jordan, Sam Stillwell, and Dante Avicolli. Our incoming class consists of 11 first-years and 1 transfer student. I'm looking forward to another strong season and conference tournament appearance.
Be on the lookout for more information about our Alumni Game, which will happen in early February! It is great when y'all are able to come back to campus, and it's fun to reminisce about the years. Next summer, we will take our international trip, which I am sure many of you have fond memories of attending yourself. The trip will include stops in Belgium, Germany, and Austria, with friendlies in the latter two. I'm really looking forward to this trip with our athletes and their families.
For this upcoming season, we truly need your support to continue to offer an exceptional experience for our athletes. We will have four flights this spring and need to purchase additional winter gear to outfit our entire roster. Our goal this year is to raise $30,000 and have 100 donors during the Pirates for Pirates Challenge. When we reach our goal, Coach Markland will get in goal (and possibly, maybe, who knows, as it may just be a rumor...myself), to take shots from the guys on the team.
Make your gift today to support Men's Lacrosse. Gifts of all sizes collectively impact our programs and elevate the experience each athlete receives. Please encourage friends and family to join you during this time in support of our program!
Thank you and Go Pirates!
