The Pirates for Pirates Challenge is happening now, and this is your opportunity to give back with your support of the Golf program!

We have had a strong start to the fall season, with both teams competing at the John Nellermoe Classic hosted by Texas Lutheran in Seguin. The men's team secured a first-place finish, and three finished in the top five. On the women's side, we secured third in the first event, with all five finishing in the top 30.

The men's team then headed up to Williamsburg, VA, for the NCAA Fall Preview, finishing tied for 12th. The women's team had another third-place finish at the Texas Legends Cup in Kingsland, TX. Both teams have two final tournaments this fall at the Carla Spenkoch Invitational in San Antonio, TX, followed by the Golfweek October Classic in Destin, FL.

We recently welcomed Christine Chen as our assistant coach. She joins us after two seasons as an assistant women’s golf coach at the University of Denver and was an All-Pac-12 and Oregon standout during her collegiate career.

The Golf Lab has been a tremendous asset to our program and has aided our recruiting efforts, particularly at the end of each visit there. Our new class this year is made up of four first-years for the women's team and one first-year, one sophomore, and one transfer added to the men's. Our Trackman monitors have an annual subscription of $1,100; with 63,000 shots in our bays last year, this subscription is vital to keeping our Golf Lab running.

We have our course fees with Berry Creek ($2,000) and Cimarron Hills ($5,000), along with cart rentals ($200 per round) to keep up the pace of play. We always need new uniforms and accessories so our athletes are prepared for all the elements they may encounter, as well as branded golf balls and travel bags. This year, we have three flight trips, and the conference tournament will be in Nashville.

This season, we truly need your support to continue offering an exceptional experience for our athletes. Our goal is to have 75 donors give back to our program. When we reach this goal, we will receive an additional $3,000 from an anonymous donor. Kate and Drew York '02 P'29 will also be matching gifts $1 for $1, up to $5,000!

Make your gift today to support Pirate Golf. Gifts of all sizes collectively impact our programs and elevate the experience each athlete receives. Please encourage friends and family to join you during this time in support of our program!

Thank you and Go Pirates!
