The Pirates for Pirates Challenge is happening now, and this is your opportunity to give back with your support of Pirate Tennis!
We have had a great start to the fall. Last month, we hosted our Alumni Tournament and had several recruits on campus throughout the weekend. Getting recruits around our current players and alumni has been a huge part of showing them what makes Southwestern Tennis special, and I am excited to continue creating more opportunities like this.
This fall has been all about building a strong foundation for the spring. We welcomed four first-years to our women's team and one to our men's team, and our focus has been getting them acclimated to college tennis, developing each player individually, and continuing to grow together as a team. We are using every practice and competition opportunity to figure out where we can improve so that when the spring season arrives, we are ready to compete at our highest level.
For the spring season, we truly need your support to continue to offer an exceptional experience for our athletes. There will be two flight trips this year to Nashville and Atlanta for conference tournaments. Our main funding project this year is resurfacing all nine of our courts. We are in the process of applying for a grant through USTA to cover half the cost of this $72,000 project. Your gifts will help pay the remaining balance for resurfacing, enhance facilities for our athletes to compete, and improve our ability to host.
Our goal this year is to have 50 donors during the Pirates for Pirates Challenge.
Gifts of all sizes collectively impact our program and elevate the experience each athlete receives. Make your gift today to support Pirate Tennis. Please encourage friends and family to join you during this time in support of our program!
Thank you and Go Pirates!
