My name is Ryan, and I am an incoming freshman at UC Santa Cruz.

Rugby has been one of the most impactful parts of my education so far. I have developed leadership skills, built lifelong friendships, learned how to work as part of a team, and challenged myself both academically and athletically.

The opportunity to travel to New Zealand with the Banana Slugs is especially meaningful to me because of the opportunity to connect with new teammates while training in a high performance environment. I'm excited to learn about a new culture, traditions and how to build rugby excellence at UC Santa Cruz. I think this trip will be a springboard to a successful college rugby career!
