My name is Martin, and I am a graduate student at UC Santa Cruz studying Molecular Biology.

Being a member of UCSC Rugby has been one of the most impactful parts of my college experience. Through this program, I have developed leadership skills, built lifelong friendships, learned how to work as part of a team, and challenged myself both academically and athletically.

The opportunity to travel to New Zealand is especially meaningful to me because as a former player and now coach, it represents a unique opportunity to improve my coaching and skillsets (I'm still young and have a lot to prove on the pitch!). I'm really excited to go on this journey with the young slugs and I know this will help the team achieve a higher standard of play!
