I joined UCSC Rugby as a freshman with no idea how much it would shape my college years. It gave me an incredible community, lifelong friends, and challenges I didn't know I needed. Rugby made me stronger, smarter, and harder working than I ever expected. 

     Over the years my commitment to the club only grew. In my sophomore year I was voted in as Travel Officer, and this past year I served as Club President, working hard to care for the team and carry forward its legacy.

     As I head into my senior year, I can't think of a better way to kick off the season than training alongside the Waikato Chiefs in New Zealand. We'll be practicing in professional facilities and getting a real taste of what it means to train at that level. 

     Beyond the rugby, this will be my first time in New Zealand and I'm genuinely excited to explore the country's culture and cuisine. And as a lifelong fan of the story, visiting the Hobbit set might honestly be the cherry on top.
