Every year, hundreds of passionate Winthrop University supporters come together for 24 hours to change the lives of students, to support remarkable educators, and to give back to the programs that make a difference to Winthrop and the community. Bleed Garnet Give Gold Events
- One Blood Drive: Outside of McBryde Hall, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM - April 22nd & 23rd
- Kick-off Bleed Garnet Give Gold by literally bleeding garnet! One Blood will be taking donations outside of McBryde Hall. All donors receive: $20 eGift Card, Insulated Tote Bag, Wellness Checkup including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening.
- Eagle Float Frenzy: The Race for Gold, West Center Pool, 11:00am-11:30am
- Join us as representatives from across campus compete in a float race in the West Center Pool. The winner will receive a $5,000 challenge gift courtesy of the members of the Winthrop University Alumni Association Executive Board, which will be designated for their department/college.
- Scholars Walk Party: Across from McBryde Hall on Scholars Walk, 11:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- Visit the Bleed Garnet, Give Gold tables and learn more about Winthrop's Day of Giving, enjoy free food, and write a thank you card to a Bleed Garnet Give Gold donor.
- College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences Kona Ice Truck: Adjacent to Scholars Walk, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
- Free Kona Ice to the first 50 students!
- College of Arts & Sciences: "One Gift, One Act of Kindness"
- The College of Arts & Sciences will have stations located across campus to collect Food Box donations, as well as gifts for the Bleed Garnet, Give Gold campaign. Prizes will be available for student donors as well. Check it out at the following locations:
- Scholars Walk
- DiGiorgio Center
- Bancroft Hall Porch
- Kinard Hall Lobby
- Dalton/Sims Courtyard (Sims Lobby as Rain Location)
- The College of Arts & Sciences will have stations located across campus to collect Food Box donations, as well as gifts for the Bleed Garnet, Give Gold campaign. Prizes will be available for student donors as well. Check it out at the following locations:
- Day of Giving Socials: Gather your Winthrop friends and join the celebration on April 22! Hors d'oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages courtesy of the Winthrop Alumni Association
- Rock Hill alumni are gathering at Slow Play Brewing at 5 PM. Slow Play Brewing is owned by three Winthrop alumni: Ben Lee '05, Matt Poston '11, and Ron Fasick '02. The Alumni Association will provide snacks from Off Z Griddle and drinks are available for purchase. Winthrop alumni will receive 10% off your tab. Group photo at 6:00pm!
- Charlotte alumni are gathering at Lenny Boy Brewing Company at 5:00pm. The Alumni Association will provide snacks and drinks are available for purchase. Group photo at 7:00pm!
- Greenville alumni are gathering at Double Stamp Brewery. The Alumni Association will provide snacks and drinks are available for purchase. Group photo at 7:00pm
- Faculty/Staff Happy Hour: Slow Play Brewing, 5 PM - 7 PM on April 22
- Celebrate the day by walking over to Slow Play Brewing and enjoy 10% off your tab.
