This spring, Williams alumni are coming together to celebrate and show their support for current LGBTQ+ students.
Gifts to the Williams Alumni Fund directly support students and the campus community, including:
- Minority Coalition groups such as the Queer Student Union, Feminist Collection (FemCo), and 21 others, as well as additional student groups like Anything But Straight in Athletics, which is celebrating 15 years next year, and Beyond the Binary
- initiatives like QSU’s Queer Families program, connecting LGBTQ+ students across Class years together to create support structures for each other
- academic opportunities including WGSS 391: Queer Literature and Theories, offered this coming fall
- the mission of the Davis Center and its staff, programs, and initiatives to advance broad campus engagement with complex issues of identity, history, and cultures as they affect intellectual, creative, and social life—including in its new buildings
- and so much more!
In honor of BiGLATA’s first iteration 36-years-ago in 1987, if you are one of the first 87 donors you will help unlock an additional $36,000 from a generous group of alums: Cesar Alvarez ’84, Brian Carpenter ’86, Bree Dietly ’82, Michael Dively ’61, Margaret diZerega ’02, Gene Falk ’75 Jeff Jacobs ’75, Jeff Johnson ’74, D. Christopher Kerby ’81, Dan Pinello ’72, Jonathan Vipond ’67, Katherine L. Wolf ‘88, and anonymous members of the Williams BiGLATA community.
Gifts to the Alumni Fund are not invested through the endowment, but rather make up about 6% of the operating budget and support nearly every area of campus. This campaign is an opportunity for alumni to give in direct support of students on campus. The campaign is organized as part of the college’s approach to supporting students of all backgrounds and identities, with particular care for those from historically marginalized backgrounds.
