Implicit attitudes are opinions that people are not consciously aware they possess. My Honors Thesis will focus on the role of implicit racial attitudes in predicting perceptions of drug users. This research is important to better understand the contrast between the criminal justice system's harsh response to African American drug users during the crack cocaine epidemic and the more compassionate response to Caucasian American drug users during the current heroin epidemic.

All William & Mary Honors Fellowships fundraising supports the Charles Center Honors Fellowships Fund. Direct support for individual undergraduate research projects is distributed by the Roy R. Charles Center for Academic Excellence
