Haitian Vodun is a religious tradition rich in wisdom but poor in scholarly understanding. My Honors Thesis will examine Ghede worship, the remembrance and veneration of ancestors within the tradition, as it is practiced among communities of adherents in Boston. I will further examine the concept of ancestor veneration in respect to the philosophy of Haitian Vodun and challenge anthropological and psychological assertions made regarding its nature and origins
