Increasing the Enhancement Factor of Silver Nanoparticles for Pigment Identification

Hometown: Rocky River, Ohio

Department: Chemistry

Advisor: Kristin Wustholz

My Honors Thesis will be an investigation of silver nanoparticle synthesis and storage. Silver nanoparticles' ability to amplify the signal of different molecules for identification is vital to a variety of applications ranging from art conservation to biosensing. I aim to unravel the details of these challenging particles with the goal of improving their function and longevity.
