Mathematical Model of Competition between NCoR1 and Exportin for Binding TRa1

Hometown: Jinan, China

Department: Biology

Advisor: Lizabeth Allison

My Honors research focuses on creating a novel mathematical model describing the transport pathway of the thyroid hormone receptor into the nucleus. Many forms of cancer and developmental disorders have been found to have correlation with the misregulation of this pathway. Understanding this transportation system better will provide insight into human body and facilitate the development of novel therapies on thyroid hormone-related diseases.

All William & Mary Honors Fellowships fundraising supports the Charles Center Honors Fellowships Fund. Direct support for individual undergraduate research projects is distributed by the Roy R. Charles Center for Academic Excellence
