States' abortion clinic access laws vary widely: some prevent clinic obstruction and harassment of clinic employees and patients, and others create "buffer zones" around clinics where protestors are not allowed to set foot. Since there is little extant research on this subject, my Honors project will explore the factors that explain why states enact these laws. My project will help to illuminate states' policymaking processes in an understudied area.
