Kentucky Museum Camp Scholarships
Will you support arts engagement for future Hilltoppers?
Each year, the Kentucky Museum hosts camps for children ages 5-10 to learn artistic skills, gain self-confidence, make new friends, and visit the museum during school breaks. These camps are taught by local artists, with the help of WKU students, and provide meaningful engagement with the arts, Kentucky Museum, and WKU.
Unfortunately, some of our community members cannot afford the $150 per child camp fee. This fee helps cover the costs of artist stipends, materials, supplies, and snacks/lunch for the children. Without these funds, our camps would not exist.
This limits who can participate in our camps – and it’s time to change that.

To do so, we are establishing the Kentucky Museum Camp Scholarships Fund to provide children from low-income families in our region with full scholarships to attend a camp of their choice. Each scholarship recipient will also receive a complimentary one-year membership to the Kentucky Museum for their family, to ensure they can share their newfound love of arts and culture with their loved ones.
Our goal is to offer at least 10 scholarships in 2019 and provide $1,500 in seed funding for an endowed scholarship fund. This will enable us to gather the data needed to seek sponsors who will bolster the Museum Camp Scholarships Fund to endowed status, ensuring that camp scholarships continue in future years.
With 28.5% of Bowling Green families designated low-income (twice the national average), such scholarships are vital to providing our future Hilltoppers with engaging educational programming. Make a statement about the causes you believe in by inspiring the next generation of Hilltoppers to become creative, confident members of our community.
