Catamounts, you never cease to amaze me. The way you showed up to make one day possible was inspirational, especially in our inaugural year of this all-in giving day!
The initial numbers are in, and we are excited to share that 1,058 donors contributed over $260,000 on One Day for Western. And we're still counting. These gifts will enable amazing projects to materialize, life-changing trips to be taken, and critical programs to continue their good work throughout our community—and it’s all because of your generosity. We cannot wait to share these impact stories with you over the next several months so you can see your investment in action.
Thank you to everyone who gave, shared, or elevated our message on One Day for Western. We are beyond grateful for your support.
Go Cats!
Thankfully,

The mission of Mountain Area Pro Bono Health Services (MAP Health) is to provide effective, pro bono physical therapy, social work, nutrition, and speech therapy services to the under-served and under-insured populations of our community, striving to improve the quality of life, health, and function of clients while also fostering student education. MAP Health offers two clinics to serve uninsured or under-insured individuals in western North Carolina, regardless of socio-economic or health status.
On One Day for Western, will you support MAP Health to not only provide experiential learning opportunities for our Physical Therapy students, but to help the under-served and under-insured in our community who need care?

Giving to the College of Health and Human Sciences Dean’s Fund means you support a variety of important initiatives across the College and within the community, including:
- Dean’s Lectureship support provides opportunities to sponsor expert professionals who will be invited to speak at a college event. The Dean’s Discretionary Fund will also provide funding opportunities for an annual faculty fellow. A faculty fellow will be selected each year and will work collaboratively with the Dean to implement a project that enhances the strategic mission and vision of the College.
- The College of Health and Human Sciences embraces and engages in interprofessional education, where multiple disciplines work together to learn and improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve; interprofessional education is integral to preparing professionals and learning how best to work together in delivering quality health care.
- Native Health Summer Camp support provides sponsorship to high school students who are interested in pursuing a college degree as a health professional. Each summer, the College works to provide an opportunity for MedCaT, which is a week-long residential summer camp for high school students in rural western North Carolina, to come to campus and the college and spend a week exploring the various health profession programs that we offer.
- Many CHHS student groups contribute to the College's mission and vision to enhance the health and well-being of the communities we serve. The Dean’s Discretionary Fund will provide opportunities for funding student initiatives that strive to improve the population health of the communities served.
Will you support the CHHS Dean's Fund on One Day for Western to have a broad impact on our College and the surrouding community?
