Celebrating 30 years of excellence, the Webster Forensics and Debate Team was established in 1993 and serves the entire student body on the Webster Groves campus.  The team has an open-door policy, annually welcoming students from a variety of majors from throughout campus. Team members find their voices as they develop critical communication and advocacy skills. The high impact experiences of applying speaking, performance, writing, teamwork, and critical analysis abilities in their forensic and debate activities prepares them for success in college, professional careers, and citizenship. The success of our graduates is seen in their contributions as collegiate and high school educators, lawyers, political consultants, business executives, and entrepreneurs. Our alumni are often at the top of their fields—and attribute their success to their forensic and debate experience.

The Webster Forensics and Debate team is raising money to send its students to the Pi Kappa Delta (PKD) National Comprehensive Tournament. Much like athletic programs, the forensic team competes all year to be ready to compete at the PKD National Tournament. Webster’s Missouri Omega chapter of Pi Kappa Delta has won well over 30 National Championships and has ten All Americans among its alumni. The team has also finished in the top 10 most years and often finishes in the top five in a field of 70 or more schools from around the country. What sets forensics apart from sports is a single division within which all colleges and universities compete. They don’t compete by school size, which means Webster often faces Division One athletic schools such as University of Alabama, University of Florida, Pennsylvania State University, and countless others. This reality makes their regular success that much sweeter.
