Giving Day contributions of every size make a major difference! Support the English Department students today with a gift to the Department of English Scholarship Fund or another area of the English Department.
- Ready! Set! Give! Once 10 donors make a gift to the English Department Annual Fund, a $1,000 gift from department chair, Jamie Goodrich, will be unlocked!
A degree in English prepares students for success in every career. As students gain skills in reading, writing, research, analysis, and critical thinking, they prepare to excel in a wide variety of fields: business, education, journalism, law, medicine, non-profit work, publishing and professional writing. The English department is made up of several strong areas of study, including creative writing, film and media studies, literary and cultural studies, and rhetoric and composition studies.
- Gifts supporting the English Department Annual Fund help provide department-specific resources; expanding the department’s ability to support a wide range of College to Career and experiential learning opportunities, including: paid internships, awards for student travel to professional conferences, departmental events and programs, funding for student and faculty research, and more. Paid internships are a crucial part of an English student’s education. The average cost to fund a student internship for one semester is $2,100. Your gift to our Annual Fund helps provide invaluable experience for our students.
- Contributions to the Department of English Scholarship Fund directly impact students by helping to make education accessible – keeping the department competitive with peers and ensuring that students have the financial support they need to complete their educational programs.
