Student-Athlete Refueling Station

Help Athletics Increase Nutrient Resources!

Serving up unlimited healthy foods and beverages to refuel after workouts, the Refueling Station is a great hit among student-athletes! The goal of the Refueling Station is to fill the gaps in access to nutrients created by the student-athlete's unique time demands and schedules required due to their participation in intercollegiate athletics. In addition, it improves the ability of student-athletes to optimize nutrient timing.

Nutrient timing is the application of knowing when to eat and what to eat before, during and after exercise to promote improved recovery, injury reduction, and increased performance. The Wayne State Athletics Refueling Station features various everyday foods such as fruit, oatmeal, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, string cheese, yogurt, trail mix, and granola bars among other options.  While Athletics is offering a lot with this amazing program, there is still need for more nutrient resources!

With your support, we can increase the frequency that the Refueling Station is open and expand the food variety. Currently, our student-athletes have access to food twice a week after they lift in the Performance Center. Your gift will enable student-athletes to have daily access to the Refueling Station and its expanded food options that will include smoothies and protein shakes.

Your contribution can make the difference in helping broaden this amazing program. Giving to the Refueling Station means giving student-athletes a strong start every day!
