About

Giving Day contributions of every size make a major difference! A gift of any size will support the Office of Economic Development (OED) in stimulating equitable growth and prosperity in our home city and state. Wayne State generates more than $2.6 billion in annual economic impact. In addition to preparing a significant percentage of our state’s workforce, the university is a major employer. We spend millions of dollars on research — developing new technologies, private-sector spinoffs and jobs — and we make big investments in our neighborhood.

Wayne State established the Office of Economic Development in 2011 to stimulate growth in the wake of the great recession. More than 10 years later, the work of OED is more important than ever! Your generosity will help our community emerge from the economic challenges of today, ready to embrace the economic opportunities of tomorrow.
