Celebrating the Legacy of Victoria Angis
After 41 years of service, our beloved Victoria Angis has announced her retirement for October 2021. While we are saddened to see such an important and impactful Castleton figure step away from our Student Life Office, we could also not be more excited for her to embrace this next chapter and enjoy more time with friends and family. To commemorate her outstanding accomplishments within the Castleton community and beyond, we are launching a celebratory campaign that honors her many years of service and provides an opportunity for people to show their thanks and support for her constant guidance and friendship.

How we're honoring the legacy of Victoria Angis: VA has had a profound impact across generations of Castleton students who in turn want to see her resolute dedication memorialized here on campus. The fulfillment of this legacy campaign will:
- Rename the student lounge outside VA's office in the Campus Center, "The Victoria Angis Student Lounge"
- Establish an endowed scholarship in VA's name for SOS & SGA students
- Support initiatives championed by VA, like Women's History Month, Student Orientation Staff, and Diversity and Inclusion, with additional funding
- Establish an award in VA's name which will annually honor an outstanding SOS student

Join us in celebrating the depth of VA’s impact by:

- Sharing the campaign on social media – Challenge your classmates, share personal stories, and help us spread the word about how others can get involved by sharing information about the campaign and corresponding events with your classmates, friends, and family through social networks.
- Attending VA’s Legacy Celebration Event – Come celebrate with us in person and give Victoria a powerful send-off by attending the VA Legacy Celebration Event on October 29 from 4-7 pm in the Campus Center 1787 Room. This event will include formal remarks, a farewell video presentation, and a dedication ceremony for the Victoria Angis Student Lounge. RSVP required and available at castleton.edu/VALegacyEvent!
With just 10 days left to the Victoria Angis Legacy event and 5 days to VA's 70th birthday, a generous 1995 alumnus has pledged a $1 for $1 match for every donation that comes in, to the next $10,000! Take advantage of this match to double your gift to VA's scholarship and the areas she championed on campus!
