Your support on UW Giving Day will help the Department of Visual Art in one critical area—stipends for bachelor's in art education student teachers.
The University of Wyoming bachelor's in art education sends students across Wyoming to complete sixteen weeks of residency in student teaching during their final spring semester to become certified to teach K–12 art education. Student teachers move to new towns in Wyoming, rent housing, and live on their own while they complete their teaching placements.
Providing stipends to support both moving and living costs in this final step of certification lifts the challenging financial burden for our students. Your funding makes it possible for student teachers to focus on the critically important task of developing their vocational expertise at this crucial time and thus preparing new and needed art teachers for our local communities across our great state of Wyoming.
Donors, your generous contribution celebrates and supports new teachers. Thank you for assisting with their student teaching and expanding art education in our communities and building the opportunities for rich creative environments for our future generation of students!
