Gifts to Science Initiative contribute to...
The Science Initiative is passionate about fostering student and faculty success, and touching communities across Wyoming.
The UW Science Initiative has already made far-reaching impacts through a number of diverse yet coordinated programs.
- We support the Learning Actively Mentoring Program (LAMP), which trains STEM faculty how to engage students in the classroom through active-learning strategies. Student success has dramatically improved in the classes of faculty who have had this training, but we need to continue to reach more faculty through LAMP.
- Our Wyoming Research Scholars Program (WRSP) provides undergraduates with the highest form of active learning—one-on-one mentored research with the very best STEM faculty at UW. Students with WRSP experience are finding great success at UW and beyond, as they apply for jobs and pursue further educational opportunities.
- Our flourishing K–12 community outreach program, the Science Initiative Roadshow, is engaging students, teachers, and communities across Wyoming in rich STEM educational experiences. These opportunities are helping open the door for all Wyoming students to pursue a diverse set of STEM careers, and connecting UW to our Wyoming communities.
Thank you for your generous support of the UW Science Initiative! With your help, we can directly impact more students at the University of Wyoming
