About

Support students studying Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management or Hospitality this Giving Day.

Tourism is the second largest industry in Wyoming, generating over $4 billion in 2021. In addition, tourism is the largest single employment sector in Wyoming, employing over 30,000. And so, the mission of the WORTH Initiative (the Wyoming Outdoor Recreation, Tourism, and Hospitality Initiative) is to support, expand, and diversify Wyoming’s economy through outdoor recreation, tourism, and hospitality industries.

In 2018, the University of Wyoming Haub School and College of Business started the Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management degree, which now boasts over 80 students. In 2022, the WORTH Initiative was officially kicked off. Together, these programs are supporting one of Wyoming's biggest industries.

Your donation will support student scholarships, Wyoming internships, and the WORTH Initiative. You will also be helping us take advantage of a match of $250,000 from the Wyoming Office of Tourism, which will double the impact of your gift. Governor Gordon provided a generous budget exception request to support students in these fields.

Thank you to all our donors!
