The Middle East and North Africa Cultural Club introduces University of Wyoming students to Middle Eastern cultures and creates a welcoming space for UW students from the Middle East and North Africa region.
Activities and culture includes Middle Eastern foods, music, dancing, and discussion forums. Past events have included an Islam and democracy discussion forum and a traditional Ramadan dinner. Our meetings take members on a journey throughout the region. Meetings alternate between formal and informal.
The formal sessions include a presentation on the chosen country usually given by a student or community member from that country, which gives members a comprehensive perspective on the country's culture, society, politics, religion, and more. There are food and drinks from that country and games or music.
The informal meetings depend on the country, but they include an informal activity most relevant to that country. Examples include dinner at a Lebanese restaurant, going to a cafe to drink Turkish coffee, playing billiards, and drinking Arak.
Thank you for your support of the Middle East and North Africa Cultural Club and helping bring Middle Eastern cultures to UW!
