The world is changing quickly, living more and more online, and the UW Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is leading the charge with new research in tech and by educating the next generations of electrical and computer engineers and computer scientists. We are equipping students with the skills they need while at the same time pursuing deeper understandings to create innovative software and technologies to better Wyoming and the world.
For this year's Giving Day, we would like to ask for you support of the Hamann-Kubichek-Pierre Engineering Education Excellence Fund or student travel to conferences.
- The Hamann-Kubichek-Pierre Engineering Education Excellence Fund: This fund recognizes the combined commitment to countless students by these three recently retired professors. The fund will be used for engineering education activities such as the IEEE student branch, guest speakers for the department and the IEEE student branch, education-related travel, student awards, and scholarships. A generous matching fund (until exhausted) will double the impact of your giving.
- Student Travel to Conferences: In recent years, a good number of our undergraduates have been attending the International AI conference. Support will go to helping students with travel related expenses.
The departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science merged in July 2022 and continue to offer the same undergraduate and graduate degrees, and we are excited to see great increases in enrollment and graduation rates.
Gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar until the matching fund is exhausted. We would like to thank our many donors!
