Parkside Day is turning 5! You're invited to be a part of an action-packed day that brings us together for 24 hours of celebration and support. Your gifts, your time, your voice, and your Ranger pride make Parkside Day a success. We invite you to join the proud tradition of Rangers who are Difference Makers and support scholarships at UW-Parkside.
The UW-Parkside Foundation spearheaded the creation of the Future Focus Fund in 2018 as part of UW-Parkside’s 50th anniversary. The goal of the Future Focus is to reduce student loan debt and help students graduate, including many seniors in danger of “stopping out” or dropping out as additional financial barriers arise in their final semesters. Soon after Future Focus awards began, the COVID crisis began – and the Future Focus Fund expanded to provide additional funds to help students in need of emergency aid to help pay for not only tuition but other critical expenses like rent, groceries, and car insurance.
In its first three years of awards (2019-20 through 2021-22), the Future Focus Fund provided more than $390,000 in scholarships and emergency aid to more than 300 unique UW-Parkside students.
Approximately 70% of the awards to date have gone to seniors to help them complete their final semesters and graduate in a timely way.
