Ridley Scholar Programming

Transforming generations starts with changing lives, and you can be part of that impact by helping us elevate the opportunities that Black students are afforded on Grounds. Through programs and awards like the Truist Leadership Academy and the OAAA awards, your support to the Ridley Scholarship Program General Fund ensures that we can continue to cultivate opportunities across Grounds for all Black students at UVA.

• The Truist-Ridley Leadership Academy: Established in 2022, offers 30-35 black students each fall and spring an opportunity to immerse in a one-week leadership-based learning experience at the Truist Headquarters in Charlotte, NC. 
• OAAA Awards: Each year, the Ridley Scholarship Program offers scholarship awards to Black students who have excelled in their 1st and 4th years. These awards are given at the Harambee and Kente ceremonies.
