The Diana E. Long Lecture Series Fund

This campaign ended on June 30, 2019, but you can still make a gift to University of Southern Maine by clicking here!

Diana E. Long was a path-breaking feminist scholar, beloved mentor, and social justice warrior. She was also a beloved professor emerita of history at the University of Southern Maine for nearly two decades.

May 11, 2018 would have been Diana’s 80th birthday. In memory of her, and in gratitude for her scholarship and contributions to the field of women and science, the Women and Gender Studies Program at the University of Southern Maine is establishing a lecture series in Diana’s name.

The lecture series will invite leading voices in Women and Gender Studies to present a lecture on a topic germane to women’s contributions to intellectual thought, with an emphasis on, but not exclusive to, the sciences.

Donations to fund this lecture series are being sought from family, colleagues and friends of Diana E. Long’s. Contributions in any amount are welcome.

Those able to make a significant contribution of $5,000 or above will be listed as Benefactors of the Diana E. Long Lecture Series; those making contributions of $1,000 or more will be a listed as Sponsors; $500 or more will be identified as Supporters; donations in any other amount will be listed as Contributors.

Donations large and small will make this project possible.  All donations are fully tax deductible.

Thank you for helping to keep Diana's memory alive through the Diana E. Long Lecture Series Fund.
