Support Outdoor Adventures on Torero Tuesday!
For nearly 40 years, Outdoor Adventures (OA) has been a vital part of the USD community, offering outdoor experiences that foster personal growth, leadership, and environmental stewardship. One of our primary goals is to help students reconnect with nature and build supportive relationships.
Today, many students face increasing loneliness, anxiety, and stress, which affect their mental and physical health. OA addresses these challenges through programs that combine adventure with community-building. By immersing students in nature and fostering close peer connections, we help them develop confidence and resilience to tackle both personal and academic challenges.
The benefits of spending time in nature are well-documented, and our peer-led programs leverage this knowledge to support students' well-being at USD and beyond. Gifts to OA will help reduce program cost as a barrier for some students ensuring that we can continue providing these life-enhancing experiences for all students at USD.
Gifts to OA will help support our most important goals: to eliminate cost as a barrier so all students can access our outdoor programs and support student participation through a lending library of technical outdoor clothing. The gift account will be used to support student financial assistance to participate in guide training and attend trips as well as allow us to grow our lending library of technical clothing for students.
