Your gift to our UNC Asheville Disaster Relief Fund will fund our Hardship Grants as we aim to provide as much support as possible to students, faculty, and staff affected by Helene.
As soon as we launched these grants in October, the response was immediate: within hours of announcing the program, hundreds of Bulldogs applied for aid, and, within two weeks, we had over 750 applications.
That’s 750 individual cases of need — each one representing a Bulldog seeking stability in the face of upheaval. Some need temporary shelter after losing homes; others remain unemployed after the shuttering of dozens of local business. Many are struggling to afford transportation and groceries.
