What is SROP?
Each summer, U-M's Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) hosts undergraduate students from around the country for 10 weeks. SROP students work on research projects with U-M faculty and participate in opportunities to build their scholarly networks with peers and with current graduate students. Following the program, students have the opportunity to present their research at academic conferences.
- SROP represents an important investment in U-M’s ambitions for excellence, climate, inclusion, and diversity. In the 2023 SROP cohort, 68% attended Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs), 66% were first-generation, and over 73% were Pell-eligible or considered high need.
- SROP participants are also future Wolverines. Between 2021 and 2022, over 93% of the SROP cohorts applied to U-M for graduate school and over 53% were accepted.
How can I help?
This Giving Tuesday, we are raising $5,000 so that 10 SROP students can present their research at academic conferences without taking on significant financial burden. Will you help us reach our goal?
