We can't thank you enough for your support! Thanks to you we are one step closer to our goal of providing students with the opportunity to travel and learn internationally with OS.
While our Giving Tuseday campapign has ended, you can still support Organization Studies. Visit our main online giving site to make a gift.
Gifts will support faculty-led international travel to South America in the spring for a group of 12 students as the capstone to a Winter 2026 course.
In their travels, students will study and provide insights for social enterprises; entrepreneurial businesses that have social benefit at their core. With the increase in cost to travel, gifts will help make this unique experience is possible for students regardless of their financial background.
"This course is an unparalleled educational opportunity. I often reflect on the depth of learning that was made possible for our cohort, thanks to donors like you. To study in Ann Arbor and directly apply our learnings in an international setting was a highlight of my collegiate experience. It left me with life-long memories and informed my perspective of organizations, global relations, and our role as human beings in society." -Heather Kendrick Stanton (A.B. 2016)
"Spending time abroad, I learned as much about myself as I did about other people, their cultures, and organizations – and I have hoped to help OS students garner some of those same lessons. In 2020, I took a class of students to Central America (video above) to work on a project on coffee cooperatives for the ICAFE, a government agency that regulates coffee production and marketing in Costa Rica. It was an exciting opportunity to work on a project with real consequences for small coffee farmers. My hope is to have a similarly engaged course on social enterprises, with some of the applied learning happening on the ground in Ecuador." -Steven Samford, Associate Professor, Organizational Studies
