SWE Conference Challenge

This campaign ended on May 22, 2017, but you can still make a gift to University of Massachusetts-Lowell by clicking here!

The UMass Lowell section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is devoted to the academic and professional success and growth of females pursing STEM fields.  We partner with university resources, the College of Engineering, alumni, and any group interested in promoting women in STEM.  The UMass Lowell section is committed to four pillars:  Professional Development, Outreach, Partnerships and Networking.

One of the most beneficial reasons to be a part of SWE is to attend the National Conference!  The SWE National Conference hosts more than 10,000 members from all around the world for an opportunity of a lifetime which helps female engineers grow professionally and personally.  It also allows them to attend the largest career fair in the country dedicated to women in engineering.  More than 50% of past attendees have received and accepted co-op positions, internships, and even full-time positions!

In past years we have been fortunate enough to give twenty deserving members the opportunity of a lifetime.  This year, the Annual Conference is in Austin, Texas, an ever-expanding hub for engineering companies and jobs, but unfortunately, due to budget cuts, we can only afford to bring six girls this upcoming year.  As other top tier universities are able to send twenty or more girls per year, we are asking for your support to help us expand UMass Lowell's reputation and presence by helping us send all of our deserving members to Austin this fall!
