Support Haiti Development Studies Center

As Director of the Haiti Development Studies Center, I am grateful for the philanthropic contributions we receive supporting our research center in Haiti. Financial gifts restricted for the benefit of this academic program enables us to engage faculty and students seeking new pathways to critical change in impoverished international communities. In these times when there are many demands on the overall budget of the University, allocations for academic programs from state funding are declining.

Private gifts are crucial to our ability to provide programs and facilities of excellence to our students both at home and abroad. We are pleased to have Haitian students, Ralph Douyon, Dayana Alabre and Sattoya Pierre-Louis, who live in the city of Les Cayes and are enrolled in our on-line UML Bachelor of Arts degree program at our studies center. They also participate as paid research interns alongside our student-based research teams insuring effective outcomes for the communities in which we serve. - Robert Giles
