Donations to the dean’s discretionary fund provide flexibility in meeting CMCI's greatest needs and taking advantage of new opportunities as they arise. This fund is crucial to CMCI's operations and has been used to fund scholarships, faculty research, new and expanding programs, facilities improvements, and more. The Dean’s Fund allows CMCI’s dean to move quickly and provide funding when needs arise. In the past year, donor support to this fund has helped purchase immersive media equipment, enabling a graduate student to document the aftermath of the earthquake in Syria; send undergraduate students to the Public Relations Society of America conference in Nashville; and support an event focused on environmental communication.
