About

While summer is typically viewed as the season for vacation or some type of relaxation, many Trevecca students are instead focused on working long hours to bolster their available funds for school. In some cases, the gap between available family funds and the cost of returning to Trevecca in the fall is significant.

The Build a Bridge Scholarship campaign is about Trevecca alumni and friends providing a financial helping hand to make a way for these students to continue their Trevecca education this fall. Our goal is to leave no student standing on the other side of a financial crevice. Many times the gap is just $2-3,000. Please consider making your gift now so that together we can build that financial bridge to a Trevecca education.

The Bridge Builder

An old man going a lone highway, came, at the evening cold and gray,

To a chasm vast and deep and wide, through which was flowing a sullen tide.

The old man crossed in the twilight dim, the sullen stream had no fear for him;

But he turned when safe on the other side and built a bridge to span the tide.

“Old man,” said a fellow pilgrim near, “You are wasting your strength with building here;

Your journey will end with the ending day, you never again will pass this way;

You’ve crossed the chasm, deep and wide, why build this bridge at evening tide?”

The builder lifted his old gray head, “Good friend, in the path I have come,” he said,

“There followed after me today a youth whose feet must pass this way.

This chasm that has been as naught to me to that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be;

He, too, must cross in the twilight dim; Good friend, I am building this bridge for him!”

Two lives transformed by generosity

Peyton Lane is from Chariton, Iowa, and he’s majoring in music and worship arts. He embarked on his journey at Trevecca alone and far from the people and places he knew. Yet in the heart of Nashville, he found a caring community that has become his new home, and valuable tools for worship ministry that have provided a platform for personal growth.

"I thank you for such a generous donation that allows me to further my study and grow in what I am called to do," Peyton said.

Danee, a commercial music major from Manila, Philippines, also found a second home at Trevecca, with endless growth opportunities and a network of lifelong friends. The kindness and generosity of Trevecca's donors has allowed Danee to continue her studies, particularly during the challenges of COVID-19.

Peyton and Danee are grateful for the chance to pursue their dreams. Because of the generosity of the Trevecca community, they can becoming the leaders and world changers of tomorrow. And now we have the opportunity to help more students like Peyton and Danee experience this transformative journey.

Please consider making a donation to the 2023 Build a Bridge Scholarship fund.

As we continue to build bridges for students who need our support, your contributions make a tremendous difference.
