It’s no secret that rent, food, and commuting costs are rising exponentially. Because of this reality, our students are encountering unprecedented financial barriers that can prevent them from pursuing summer internships throughout the state or nationally. In order to accept such an internship offer, a student often needs to raise thousands of dollars in order to offset summer living costs in the given area, in addition to tuition fees for the internship course. As a result, finances are a determining factor in whether a student accepts or declines a great internship opportunity.

A gift to this fund will help students overcome these financial burdens and help them fully participate in their chosen internship experience.

100% of your gift would be allocated to the Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (B.S.P.S.) Training Fund for the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at The University of Toledo. The B.S.P.S. Training Fund comprises gifts that can be disbursed to high-need students who need funding for their summer internship experience. Eligible students are those who are pursuing a B.S.P.S. under one of the following major concentrations: Cosmetic Science and Formulation Design, Medicinal and Biological Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology/Toxicology, and Pharmacy Administration.

Each B.S.P.S. student must complete a 10-week internship placement designed to provide practical, real-world experience to prepare them for the workforce or continued education in medicine, business, public health, and more.
