Nicole Coulter matched $250Students and alumni alike have been impacted by Dr. Sammy Spann. As a surprise to thank him for this impact, the Sammy Spann Scholarship is being created. After a few initial texts and messages were sent to some of Dr. Spann's coworkers, friends, current and former students, over $3,600 was raised toward the $25,000 goal!
Currently, Sammy is serving as the associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students at The University of Toledo. He has a genuine passion for helping students succeed while in college and as a result, he has touched so many lives.
Dr. Spann has been fortunate to combine his passion for travel with his profession, and traveled extensively in over 72 countries around the world. Sammy works closely with several international and domestic student groups on campus and mentoring minority students.
The Sammy Spann Scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate or a graduate student who has a grade point average of at least a 2.0 and is involved on campus.

With four days left until the end of the scholarship campaign, we are just $2,076 away from reaching the goal of $25,000! By hitting this dollar goal, it will ensure the legacy of Sammy continues in perpetuity at The University of Toledo.

We have also increased the goal for the campaign. In order to endow the scholarship, $25,000 is needed. Originally, the plan was to fundraise over a two-year period. The support for this scholarship has been so overwhelming, we have decided to change this to a one-year project. With your help, we are confident we will be able to reach the $25,000 goal!
