Each year, Health Behavior students make valuable public health contributions through practicum placements all over the world. These real-world experiences help them develop as public health leaders while they work to bring about sustainable and positive improvements in the health, safety and well-being of the communities they are working in. But students often face a financial barrier, as many of these placements are unpaid.

This year, Health Behavior student, Claire Sadeghzadeh, will conduct research in rural clinics in the Dominican Republic to understand patient experiences with diabetes distress and depression. Health Behavior student, Allie Munson, will work with MEASURE Evaluation in Sub-Saharan Africa on efforts to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV. These are just some examples of the amazing work Health Behavior students will be completing around the world this summer. Learn more here.

Last year, generous donations from alumni and friends helped fund a global practica placement for 11 Health Behavior students.

Your support – at any level – is greatly appreciated and makes a difference. Join your fellow Health Behavior alumni and friends to support students and their global public health work and help us reach our $10,000 goal for the #HBGlobal17 campaign by making your gift to the HB Student Travel Fund today!

Gifts can also be sent by check made out to: The Public Health Foundation. In the memo line put 'HB Student Travel Fund' and mail to:
