This campaign ended on December 02, 2015, but you can still make a gift to The New School by clicking here!

#GivingTuesday is a national day of giving on which donors give back to the organizations they are passionate about!

The Schools of Public Engagement, including the Bachelor's Program for Adults and Transfer Students, the MFA in Creative Writing, the School of Media Studies, and the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy, has a goal to reach $1000 in gifts this #GivingTuesday. Your gift makes one-of-a-kind opportunities available to our students in the form of scholarships, faculty support, facilities upgrades, and much more.

Thank you for including the Schools of Public Engagement in your #GivingTuesday plans!

The New School's Bachelor's Program for Adults and Transfer Students is deeply rooted in the goal of lifelong higher learning articulated by the founders of The New School in 1919. In 1943, The New School began offering a bachelor's degree program for transfer students and adults to address the educational needs of returning WWII veterans. Today, our dedication to that mission continues in a program that offers exceptional services and an innovative curriculum to nearly 1,000 adult students in New York City and online.

The New School offered the first academic creative writing workshop in 1931 and pioneered a new philosophy of education. The idea: Students would make their own lives and their own stories part of their education. Today The New School's MFA in Creative Writing program continues to celebrate and cultivate daring and diverse new voices.

The graduate, undergraduate, and continuing education curricula of the School of Media Studies carefully balances theory and practice, so that our students are fully engaged with current media scholarship as well as the latest tools of media production and management. They study media theory, media business, and media technology, and create their own media projects, ranging from documentary and dramatic films to websites and other online media, installations, and multimedia projects. Our programs prepare students to advance in almost any career direction in the rapidly evolving global media industries.

The Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy blends critical theory with hands-on practice, progressive thinking with social engagement, and research with reflection in action. The unparalleled faculty of scholars and practitioners engage in multidisciplinary, critical approaches that challenge prevailing wisdom. Milano graduates lead public, private, and nongovernmental institutions around the world and in New York City.
