Outdoor Lab for Students at Lingelbach!

100% of $67,100 goal
This campaign ended on December 31, 2023, but you can still make a gift to The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia by clicking here!

Lingelbach Elementary School has a magnificent outdoor, wooded space that is perfect for environmental studies!

There is a variety of healthy, indigenous trees that have created a beautiful canopy on the school grounds and can be seen from Lincoln Drive. There are benches for outdoor learning and trails for nature walks that sit on an acre of land.  Much of the work to begin to vitalize the space has been done by volunteers, staff and families. We have named it Lingelbach Woods!

To make this space an environment where students can learn and play in an outdoor space, we need your help!  Our goal is to raise $67,100 to fund our Forest Days program, operated through Eastern Region Association of Forest and Nature Schools, that will provide outdoor education for our youngest students in grades K-3. Additionally, we will restore our sunken garden to serve as an outdoor classroom and purchase supplies for environmental education for students in grades K-8.

Thank you so much for your support!

*If we do not meet our fundraising goal, we will use these funds to support this or another vital need at our school!
