Offer a ChallengeIn June, Star will be retiring after 41 years of teaching, coaching, and advising at Fenn. Generations of boys have looked to him for inspiration and guidance and to Kathy for her warmth and encouragement during her 32-year tenure in the Lower School. The time has now come to do something special for them.
The Starensiers’ ardent wish is that any gifts made in their honor go toward supporting boys whose families can’t quite manage the full cost of Fenn’s tuition. It is a pleasure to announce the establishment of the Bob and Kathy Starensier Scholarship Fund. Income from this endowed fund will support partial financial aid grants that will help make up that difference.
With only 4 days left until the retirement celebration for Bob Starensier, the parents of an alumnus have stepped forward anonymously with a $25,000 challenge to encourage alumni support of the Bob and Kathy Starensier Scholarship Fund.
The challenge will:
Double match (2:1) the first 50 alumni gifts to the Fund
Match subsequent alumni gifts 1:1, up to a total of $25,000
This generous family shares the Starensiers' belief in the power of financial aid to change lives. They hope you will join them in honoring Bob and Kathy's dedicated service to Fenn.
With $122,000 in gifts already committed, we have surpassed the original $100,00 Starensier Fund goal. Our eyes are now set on a new target goal of $175,000!
