FACULTY

Diana Park

As a Kundiman Fellow and a Fulbright recipient, Diana Park is passionate about writing and fostering a love for literature in younger generations. Not only has she edited for national literary journals, she has also published poems in Tin House, Pleiades, and elsewhere. Her publishing experience informs how she teaches English to sophomores, juniors, and seniors. She is also a faculty co-advisor to the Asian Student Union, an affinity space for APIDA students where they can celebrate their culture, discuss important issues, and contribute to a more inclusive community at Bryn Mawr. Inside and outside the classroom, she encourages students to become critical thinkers and writers, so they can truly lead "consequential lives."

Todd Twining is Director of the Bryn Mawr Music School, our applied private lessons program, and has been teaching music here for 12 years. He is musical director for our annual Middle School and Upper School theatre productions. A recipient of the Elizabeth Sheridan Sinclair Performing Arts Chair, he has guided our students to mindfulness in learning, championing the accomplishments of women in music, and promoting creativity and spontaneity through use of the Soundtrap music creation software program. Todd's greatest passion is learning and cultivating that same passion in students. An Orff Schulwerk trained educator, student advisor, composer, conductor, and member of our Faculty Arts Leadership Council, Todd absolutely loves his work here at Bryn Mawr!

Tonia Vines

Tonia Vines joined our Middle School Arts Department this fall. She has over 20 years of experience in teaching drama, directing, and leading arts teams in the private, charter, and public school sectors. Tonia earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Howard University and her Master of Arts in Theater Arts at California State University.  A playwright, actor, and director herself, Tonia, has been a part of productions in a variety of locales including The Kennedy Center and The Atlas Theater in Washington, D.C. Gym Drill Documentary

There is so much to look forward to at Alumnae Weekend 2022 but perhaps nothing is more greatly anticipated than Gym Drill. For 118 years, Bryn Mawr’s students have exhibited their athletic prowess in a choreographed routine designed to celebrate the abilities and strengths they have cultivated while here at Bryn Mawr.

This tradition has a rich history and in 2004 a group of Bryn Mawr seniors took the time to create a documentary about the tradition. In anticipation for this year’s Gym Drill, make sure to check out the link below to view the Gym Drill documentary and learn about this beloved event.
