On April 12, 2022, St. Richard’s Episcopal School will celebrate its second annual St. Richard’s Feast Day of Giving in honor of our namesake. In the Episcopal tradition, we celebrate these saints with a day of remembrance and thanks. Gratitude is offered to God for giving us their good example to follow.

St. Richard was born in the late 12th century to a wealthy family, but was orphaned at a young age. He renounced his inheritance, and went on to study at the finest universities in Europe at Oxford, Paris, and Bologna. Richard was a strong academic and leader. He became chancellor at Oxford University in 1235 and was later ordained in 1243. He believed in the importance of a vigorous education, and that learning should be used in humility in the service of others and the common good.

As we celebrate St. Richard’s Feast Day of Giving in honor of our namesake, may his life be a model for our school community today. May he inspire us to generosity of heart today so that his example of intellect, humility, and service may continue to be the hallmark of St. Richard’s Episcopal School.

Annual Fund gifts of all amounts provide unrestricted, flexible funding to ensure St. Richard's can meet the needs of our students, families, faculty, and staff. You can give right now and support the school on our inaugural Feast Day of Giving by clicking the "Give Now" button above!
