The Sudlow-SD Extension photograph collection comprises over 30,000 photographic images that document rural life in South Dakota from 1940 to 1990. Leland Sudlow captured thousands of photographs during his 40-year career as a photographer for the South Dakota Extension Service's Communication department. This priceless treasure is currently a hidden collection, with only 1% of it cataloged. The aim of this project is to catalog and digitize the entire collection, making it accessible to the public on the South Dakota Digital Library. To achieve this goal, additional staff, equipment, and supplies are required for the project's success.
A photograph says a thousand words. Just think what 30,000 images would say?
