The gift of education is the greatest gift you can give to the next generation.
Financial aid has the power to change the trajectory of a life and open a world of possibilities. Every day, we hear stories from Smithies whose lives were transformed because of scholarship support.
Belise, an economics major from Rwanda, wants to use the knowledge she acquired at Smith to empower poor rural women in her home country.
“I know we won't eradicate all the poverty in my country, but I want to be part of any possibility that we will.”
Our graduates have the freedom to follow their passions and pursue careers in which they can make the most difference because they aren’t burdened with large amounts of college debt.
“I wouldn't have applied to Smith if I hadn’t dared to hope to receive financial aid. I also came to realize that if a school like Smith could use their resources to invest in me, it meant that I was actually worth something and that I would do big things in life, not only for myself but also for my family and my country.”
The Smith Fund is challenging the Smith community to raise 3,100 donations in 31 days for scholarship aid. Throughout December, all donations, no matter the size, will go directly toward keeping a Smith education accessible and affordable.
By giving during December, you empower hundreds of Smith students like Belise to launch bright futures, setting them on a course to change the world. We're counting on you to rise to the challenge and help Smith meet its promise to provide an exceptional education to all students, regardless of their financial need.
Please give this season's most powerful gift.
