The gift of education is the greatest gift you can give to the next generation.
Financial aid has the power to change the trajectory of a life and open a world of possibilities. Every day, we hear stories from Smithies whose lives were transformed because of scholarship support.
Laisha Aniceto ’23 is the first in her family to go to college. With limited means, the celebration of Smith’s acceptance letter was short-lived. Would she have to turn down this opportunity? Could her family afford to send her?
Yes, in fact, they could—thanks to a generous financial aid package made possible by you and other donors. Every dollar you give in financial aid directly impacts a Smith student, including Laisha.
“In my hometown, a high school diploma is the highest degree completed by most individuals. Because of financial aid, I have been able to break this cycle, and I inspired other high schoolers in my community to do the same. The scholarship has opened a whole new world not only for me and my family but for students who were also told that college was an impossible dream.”
The Smith Fund is challenging the Smith community to raise 3,100 donations in 31 days for scholarship aid. Throughout December, all donations, no matter the size, will go directly toward keeping a Smith education accessible and affordable.
Your donation, combined with those from others, will empower hundreds of Smith students like Laisha to launch bright futures.
Please give this season's most powerful gift.

We're more than halfway through December and more than halfway to our goal! Way to go, Smithies!
Tell all your friends! There's STILL time to make a gift. This campaign will remain open through December 31, 2021.
The College is closed for winter break from December 23 through December 31. However, the Gifts and Records Office will be available for your charitable gift-related questions from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Eastern) December 27-31.
If you would like to make a gift or have questions regarding a gift, please call 413-585-2036. If you receive the voicemail of the Gifts and Records Staff, please leave a message and they will respond to you as soon as possible. You may also email giftaccounting@smith.edu.
Happy Holidays, and stay tuned for our final results, which will be updated in January after all December donations have been processed. Thank you!
