Class of 2013: Start the Semester with Smith!

Goal:
Remember the excitement of starting a new semester at Smith? We now have the opportunity to support current students and professors as they launch into a new academic year. This campaign seeks to raise $1,000 by October 31 to support academic departments and faculty across campus. Let’s come together as a class and help Smith start the semester off right!
How can we get there? It’s easy. Here’s just one example:

Please join us in making your gift to The Smith Fund by the end of this online campaign on October 31, and help us raise important funding for Smith. Then share this page on Facebook, tag your friends and encourage them to participate!
Why this is important to us:
Smith is a special place. It opened many doors for us and put us on career and life paths that we might not have otherwise had the opportunity to pursue. It also was the catalyst for many meaningful and lasting relationships with our incredible educators. We are eager to give back and invest in the College that changed our lives.
Educational opportunities were the cornerstone of our Smith experience, and our time in the classroom as students shaped our future as alumnae. We are proud of Smith’s commitment to providing a world-class education, and we want to do our part to ensure that it carries on.
What we’re doing about it:
We want Smith faculty and students to know that the class of 2013 supports them, especially at the beginning of the academic year. We’re asking members of the class of 2013 to make a Smith Fund gift in honor of a favorite professor or faculty member. They will receive a notification that you’ve made this gift in their honor (which will not include the gift amount.) This is a meaningful way to recognize someone special for making a difference in your life at Smith while also supporting their continued efforts with current students!
What we hope to achieve:
Through the power of education, Smith College changes the lives of thousands of students each and every year. Our annual support allows our beloved faculty members and incredible academic departments to thrive, while showing our commitment to the value of a Smith education.

All gifts to this campaign count toward recognition as a Smith Star, which commences upon five years of consecutive annual giving to Smith. An embroidered star decal is presented at reunion.
