About

GOAL:

Building on the success of our 15th reunion in May, we want to start working now to make a statement about how strongly we support the power of a Smith education. This campaign seeks to raise $2,000 in two weeks, in honor of our class year. It’s time to kick things up a notch and increase our impact.

How can we get there? It’s easy. Here’s just one example:

  •                                                             10  gifts of   $20
  •                                                               5  gifts of   $60
  •                                                               5  gifts of $100
  •                                                         +    4  gifts of $250
  •                                                                    $2,000!

Please join us in making your gift to The Smith Fund by the end of this online campaign on October 31, and help us raise important funding for Smith. Then share this page on Facebook, tag your friends and encourage them to participate!  You have until Halloween to help us reach our goal.

WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT TO US:

Smith is a special place. It opened many doors for us and put us on career and life paths that we might not have realized otherwise. It was the catalyst for some of our most meaningful and lasting relationships. To celebrate what Smith provided for us, let’s give back and invest in future Smithies, their lives, the campus, and the building of many more memories.

WHAT WE’RE DOING ABOUT IT:

By giving back each and every year, WE can make a difference. Though we may not individually be able to give a lot, collectively our gifts add up to something special. Think your $25 donation doesn’t make a difference? Last year, gifts of $100 or less to The Smith Fund totaled more than $500,000! Think about it—if just 20 people from our class each give $100, our class is already contributing $2,000 to a future Smithie’s education—just like those before us did for us. We are the power of the Smith alumnae network.  Many of us have benefitted from that network—it's time to give back.

WHAT WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE:

In addition to helping power The Smith Fund, we want to power our class to greatness as well. In order for our class to have a significant impact on the current state of affairs at Smith, we need to come together to give back to the school that gave us so much. And we need to give back every year (whatever the amount).

A LITTLE HEALTHY COMPETITION:

The classes of 2006 and 2013 are running simultaneous campaigns—we can top them, right?

When we give for five or more consecutive years, Smith awards us a star decal for our nametag at reunion. Even if you have not been giving to Smith regularly, you can start today and be a Smith Star by reunion!

With every gift made today, we raise our participation percentage—last year we were around 20%.  We're shooting for 40% this time—help us out!

Every gift helps our donor numbers which helps our Admissions.  Mt. Holyoke be warned!
